According to Sahara Reporters, The Nigeria’s military authorities on Wednesday confirmed an earlier SaharaReporters’ story that a Boko Haram commander killed in Konduga but mistaken for the militants’ leader Abubakar Shekau was actually one Bashir Mohammed.

The reported killing of a top Boko Haram leader said to be Abubakar Shekau has again ignited a fresh controversy between Nigerian and Cameroonian troops as reported by PUNCH NEWS

The Cameroon Concord had on Monday quoted a military source as having said that Shekau was killed on Saturday by the Cameroonian Army during a cross border aerial bombardment of his hideout in Nigeria.

Kano Suicide Bomb Explosion: Security Agency Puts Death Toll At 15

It has been reported by Channels Television News that there was a bomb explosion at the Federal College of Education,Kano earlier today.

           

Security Personnel at the scene of the bomb attack on a Federal College of Education in Kano, north-west Nigeria, have put the number of persons killed at 15 while over 30 others were injured.

Two suicide bombers that carried out the attack on Wednesday were among the dead persons.

An eyewitness said that the attackers entered the Arts and Social Sciences building, firing indiscriminately at fleeing students before the explosives went off.

“They came from the main gate and started shooting people with gun. Any student they see, they will shoot him.

“They entered Art and Social Sciences and detonated the bomb,” an eyewitness said.

The State Commissioner of Police, Adenrele Shinaba, told reporters that lectures were going on when the suicide bombers entered the classroom and dropped two explosives at the lecture theatre.

The area has been deserted as residents and students scampered for safety, our reporter said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but a terrorist group, Boko Haram that has carried out series of such attacks in the north-east is major suspect.

EBOLA: American Doctor Who Recovered From Ebola Calls Outbreak a 'Fire Straight From the Pit of Hell'

The doctor who was the first U.S. Ebola patient to be treated in America testified before a congressional committee today recalling the horror and "humiliation" of a disease that has killed thousands as abcnews reports.

Dr. Kent Brantly, working on behalf of the U.S.-based missionary group Samaritan's Purse, was treating patients in Monrovia, Liberia, when he became infected with the Ebola virus in July. Brantly was evacuated to Emory University Hospital, where he was treated and eventually recovered.

The Ebola outbreak continues to grow throughout West Africa with an estimated 2,461 deaths attributed to the virus and thousands more infected

Now just a few weeks after being discharged from Emory, Brantly was able to speak out about what he saw as a doctor and a patient during this Ebola outbreak -- the worst on record since the virus was first identified in the 1970s. During his testimony, Brantly urged Congress and government officials to give more aid and personnel to try and stop the outbreak, which President Obama today said is "spiraling out of control."

I was isolated from my family, and I was unsure if I would ever see them again," Brantly said of his time being an Ebola patient in Liberia. • "It is grueling work," Brantly said of treating Ebola patients in Liberia. "The personal protective equipment (PPE) we wore in the Ebola Treatment Unit becomes excruciatingly hot, with temperatures inside the suit reaching up to 115 degrees. It cannot be worn for more than an hour and a half."
• "If we do not do something to stop this outbreak now, it quickly could become a matter of U.S.national security -- whether that means a regional war that gives terrorist groups like Boko Haram a foothold in West Africa or the spread of the disease into America."

Army Sentences 12 Soldiers To Death For Mutiny

              

A court martial of the Nigerian Army has sentenced 12 soldiers to death by firing squad for attempted murder of Major General Ahmed Audu, the former General Commanding Officer of the Seven Division in Borno State.

Military authorities arraigned 18 soldiers in two batches of 11 and seven with charges ranging from mutiny, attempted murder, insubordination, false accusation, absent without leave and conduct to the prejudice of service discipline.

However, five of the soldiers were acquitted and discharged while a soldier was convicted and sentenced to 28 days imprisonment with hard labour

A woman, who was being stretchered toward an awaiting ambulance, waved her hands shouting “God of T.B. Joshua, you are wonderful”, she had been in the dark, under the rubble for over 24 hours.

Nigerian Air Force plane missing in Adamawa

According to Daily Post, An Alpha Jet (NAF 466) belonging to the Nigerian Air Force is missing around Adamawa State.

According to a statement signed by Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, “The aircraft, with two pilots on-board, left Yola at about 10:45am on 12 September 2014 on a routine operational mission and was expected back by 12:00 noon.

“Since then, all efforts to establish contact with the aircraft have not yielded any positive result. Meanwhile, search and rescue effort is ongoing to establish contact with the crew”.

ISIS Behead British Aid Worker, David Haines

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria released a video on Saturday, September 13, 2014 showing the apparent beheading of British aid worker, David Haines

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)have apparently beheaded a British aid worker, identified as David Cawthorne Haines.

The terrorists released a video on Saturday, September 13, 2014 showing 44-year-old Haines kneeling next to his would-be murderer.

Before his apparent beheading, Haines gives a speech blaming British Prime Minister, David Cameron for his death.

It reads:

"You entered voluntarily into a coalition with the United States against the Islamic State (ISIS), just as your predecessor Tony Blair did, following a trend amongst British Prime Ministers who can't find the courage to say no to the Americans,"

American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff were also murdered by ISIS in the same fashion within the last month.

After each beheading video, ISIS issues a threat on another Westerner and the last threat issued, in the video where Sotloff was murdered, was against Haines.

Meanwhile Cameron has reacted to the video via Twitter calling the beheading "an act of pure evil" and saying:

"We will do everything in our power to hunt down these murderers and ensure they face justice, however long it takes,"

If the authenticity of the video is confirmed, Haines' beheading would make him the third Westerner to be executed by ISIS. In the sect’s usual manner, they have also reportedly threatened to kill another Brit hostage, Alan Henning.
