Kemi Omotoyinbo was a popular dancer who danced for K1, Pasuma, Shina Peters at a time. She had a grand wedding ceremony in Lagos on 13th September 2014. It was shocking when the news of her death was announced on 1st October. She died 20 days after her wedding to Godwin Eloanyi.
According to City People reports, she died in the hospital having been in coma for 10 days. She is said to have been battling for her life when the payment for a deposit of 300,000 Naira for an emergency Caesarean Section(CS) couldn’t be made. An online medium reports that one of her friends said Kemi could have been saved if the doctors had paid attention to her.
In her words, “The doctor refused and stated categorically that he would not move an inch else he pays 300,000. It was at that point Kemi decided to forward messages to people she knows so she could get help. She got responses that money would be made available to her the next day.
On hearing that the husband went to beg the doctors again, still they refused. No bank was opened and nothing could be done until Thursday October 2nd but unfortunately she gave up the ghost that night. My point is, the doctors knew she had to go through emergency CS. They could have saved her life and collect the money later.”
